Sarnia, ON, May 25, 2012– Sarnia-Lambton students’ hard work and dedication to volunteerism will be honoured on Monday, May 28, 2012 at an awards ceremony. Sarnia, ON, January 16. 2012 – The organization committee for The Lions’ Den announced today plans for a Lambton College version of the hit CBC Television series to take place on April 4, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. in The Lambton INN.

Inspired by CBC’s hit TV show “Dragons’ Den” The Lions’ Den will feature selected contestants pitching their new business ideas to a panel of “Lions” (local business/investment people) in front of a live audience hosted by local celebrities John Hollingswoth and Sue Storr, at The Lambton INN for feedback and hopefully negotiation and financial backing. Organizers hope to feature eight pitches, plus up to two additional Lambton College students, throughout the show.

Sarnia, ON, November 28, 2011 – The Lambton College Foundation’s signature event Corks, Caps & Cuisine was help on Saturday October 22, 2011 at the Lambton Inn. This fun filled evening featured 17 vendors from across Ontario (breweries, wineries, distillers, coffee shops and speciality food stores) with over 40 products to sample. Each product was expertly paired by Culinary Coordinator Alastair MacKay and created by Hospitality & Tourism, Culinary Management, and Cook Apprenticeship students. Guests raved about the food and the expertise and knowledge that the students possessed. Students were stationed at each vendor table to discuss how the product and food were paired together.

Over $84,000 in Academic Awards Presented at Lambton College

Sarnia, ON, November 21, 2011 – $84,825 worth of scholarship money was awarded at the Annual Academic Awards Luncheon at Lambton College on Thursday, November 10, at The Lambton INN.

Five new awards were added this year: the Adam and May Senchuk Memorial Award, Dr. Linda Bowring – Sarnia Lambton Palliative Care Association Scholarship, TODA Advanced Materials Scholarship for Technology, The Chris Dawson Frugal and Fabulous Fashion Business Award and the Certified Management Accountants (CMA) Award.

CF Industries Make Generous Gift to The Lambton College Foundation

Sarnia, ON, June 15, 2011 – CF Industries announced today a very generous $100,000 gift to the Inspiring the Future Fundraising Campaign of The Lambton College Foundation. This infusion of funding to technology programming with a focus on the Chemical Production and Power Engineering Technology program suite will expand capacity for student learning with leading edge technology and ensure students will stay current with the needs of industry.

One local secondary student to be awarded $16,000 scholarship for outstanding volunteer efforts

SARNIA, ON, May 25, 2011– Sarnia-Lambton students’ hard work and dedication to volunteerism will be honoured tomorrow, May 26, 2011 at an awards ceremony. One student from each of the eight district high schools will receive The Norma & Edward Cox Secondary School Volunteer Award for their efforts; an overall winner chosen out of these eight students will also be announced and awarded for his/her outstanding contributions. The ceremony will be held at Lambton College at 10:00 a.m. in Room N105. Mrs. Norma Cox will present the honours alongside Lambton College President Tony Hanlon.
