In co-operation with local food service operators, the College offers the in-school sessions for cook apprentice training at the Basic - Level I and the Advanced - Level II.
Each of these levels operates at 12 hours per week (as a day release program) for a duration of 30 weeks each. This allows the student to continue to work while completing the mandatory hours of in-school training, as well as continuing to work towards attaining their Journeyman’s status.
People interested in the food industry may take Basic - Level I in preparation for employment.
Successfully enrolled students will have:
- Grade 12 or equivalent including Math and English
- Must be presently employed in the industry as an apprentice.
- Must be registered with the local Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities.
