Anyone may register for any of the individual courses. However, only those individuals
who are graduates of an approved Early Childhood Education Program (or
acceptable equivalent) are eligible to receive a Certificate in Early Childhood
Education Infant/Toddler Care and Guidance. Most placement agencies will
require a current Police Record and Vulnerable Sector Check. The student must
provide this to the agency prior to commencing field placement.
Course equivalencies can be obtained through Academic Upgrading and Pre-Programs at Lambton.
A variety of employment opportunities exist for graduates in infant and toddler
rooms of child care centres, or as supervisors of child care centres which provide
infant/toddler care. Opportunities also exist in family home child care situations,
infant stimulation programs, early intervention services, and at family resource
centres.
