PROGRAM INFORMATION

Discover your own personal learning style, and build a strong educational base, while learning in a flexible and innovative environment.

This program provides a foundation that equips students with solid social science (psychology, anthropology, sociology and political science), computing, math, and communication (written, oral and group) skills and provides students with the opportunity to pursue areas of personal interest.

General Arts & Science meets the needs of employers looking for more highly skilled and self-directed employees, and also meets the needs of students from a range of backgrounds, abilities and interests. This program utilizes modern technology and multi-media tools to further enhance the learning environment. Students also have the opportunity to explore hybrid learning, offering greater flexibility and encouraging self-directed learning.

Whether university or employment bound, General Arts & Science is ideal for students looking for a well-rounded post-secondary education.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

O.S.S.D. or equivalent with:
Grade 12 English C or U

Mature applicants must be at least 19 years of age by the start of classes, be out of secondary school for at least one year and usually do not have a high school diploma. Mature applicant testing for this program is available in the Counselling Department in the subject of English. The test(s) will demonstrate proficiency in required admission subjects.For more information please contact the Counselling Department at ext. 3412. Academic admission requirements can be obtained through Academic Upgrading and Pre-Programs at Lambton College.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Between direct employment, transfers to other programs (college and university) and upgrading, General Arts & Science graduates can be found in retail, industry, marketing and education. Click here for Transfer Opportunities.

Two GASC alumni currently teach in the GASC program, another completed a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and is working in the Yukon (Customs & Immigration).
