Office Administration – Executive prepares students for a career by training and providing versatile office administration skills. The first year of study is common to all Office Administration streams. The second year is designed to provide students with an extensive practical understanding of the multiple functions and tasks performed by administrative personnel working with all levels of an organization.
Students will embrace an active-learning environment that includes extensive computer-based technical training and a capstone project that involves the creation of a professional portfolio. Graduates will be able to demonstrate their expert training in a variety of software applications ranging from word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation software to desktop publishing, web page design, flow charts, forms and accounting software.
Graduates also develop strong interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills, and will be capable of overseeing projects and budgets, organizing meetings, taking minutes, making travel arrangements as well as researching, developing and presenting a variety of business correspondence and reports.
This program boasts high levels of student satisfaction. In an independent study,the OAEX program boasted a 100% employment rate for 2011 graduates.

Mature applicants must be at least 19 years of age by the start of classes, be out of secondary school for at least one year and usually do not have a high school diploma. Mature applicant testing for this program is available in the Counselling Department in the subject of English. The test(s) will demonstrate proficiency in required admission subjects.For more information please contact the Counselling Department at ext. 3412. Academic admission requirements can be obtained through Academic Upgrading and Pre-Programs at Lambton College.

To earn the 2010 Microsoft Office Master certification, you must pass all of the following MOS exams:
MOS: Microsoft Office Word 2010 Expert; MOS: Microsoft Office Excel 2010 Expert; MOS: Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2010; MOS: Microsoft Office Outlook 2010 -or- MOS Microsoft Office Access 2010.
Certificates are awarded through Microsoft for each certification listed above and once all have been achieved, a Master certification is awarded. Students are encouraged to practice through self-study and preparation at www.Certiport.com. Please note: there are additional costs to this beyond the scope of the program.
Graduates of the Office Administration - Executive diploma program will have the skills, knowledge and practical experience to look forward to rewarding careers in business, industry, government, manufacturing, education, transportation, hospital departments (particularly administration), law and numerous other professional services. Some job titles used for these types of positions are office professional, administrative assistant, executive assistant, office manager, senior administrative support officer and human resources assistant.
