There is nothing general about Lambton’s Business Administration – General program. Prepare yourself for a career in business management with a foundation in essential business knowledge. Experience courses in accounting, marketing and human resources; develop key skills in technology, presentations, teamwork and time management that are essential for employment in today’s competitive environment. Come and discover the world of business through in-class study, hands-on business projects and optional co-op placements.
Students may chose to transfer to the Business Administration – Accounting, Human Resources or Marketing program at the end of first year.
Students entering this program in September 2013, are entering a Mobile Learning program. To be able to participate in the mobile learning experience, it is essential that all entering students have a mobile device.
This program requires that entering students have a laptop with wireless capability. Software and courseware required for coursework will be available virtually from the college through the internet.
Some students may prefer the convenience of having the required software loaded onto their laptop. A laptop with appropriate computing power will be required. The software may be available for purchase – in some cases at an educational discount - from the Lambton College Campus Shop.
Students will be able to access and use some learning materials using a smartphone or tablet, which may enhance the learning experience.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
O.S.S.D. or equivalent with:
Grade 12 English C or U
Any Grade 11 or 12 Mathematics C or U
Mature applicants must be at least 19 years of age by the start of classes, be out of secondary school for at least one year and usually do not have a high school diploma. Mature applicant testing for this program is available in the Counselling Department in the subject of English and Math. The test(s) will demonstrate proficiency in required admission subjects. For more information please contact the Counselling Department at ext. 3412. Academic admission requirements can be obtained through Academic Upgrading and Pre-Programs at Lambton College.

ACCREDITATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS
Students graduating from this program will have met the academic requirements for the Certified in Management (CIM) and Professional Manager (P.Mgr.) designations. All graduates from this program will be eligible to receive a Certificate in Management and Administration from the Canadian Institute of Management. In order to obtain these designations, graduates will need to demonstrate the appropriate level of managerial experience in the workplace and submit the appropriate application form(s), fee(s) and reference letter(s) to the
Canadian Institute of Management. They may apply for designation at graduation or later in their careers.
EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
Students have many opportunities upon graduation:
- Employment in private enterprise, particularly small and medium-sized businesses, non-profit or government organizations or entrepreneurship.
- Obtain a post-graduate certificate in Human Resources Management with an additional year at Lambton College.
- Transfer to one of Lambton's university partners and obtain a degree in as little as one additional year.
