Students are required to achieve a cumulative G.P.A of at least 2.0 and successfully complete all academic requirements (courses) to be eligible to participate in co-op.
Students must attend co-op workshops and training opportunities as identified by the myCareer Centre to be eligible to continue in the co-op stream.
Students pay co-op fees in order to receive employment support services from the myCareer Centre including co-op preparation workshops, one-on-one assistance and the opportunity to apply for co-op positions posted on the myCareer System.
The job market for co-op is very competitive and students are expected to be an active participant in their job search, this includes demonstrated activity on the myCareer Job Posting System.
Lambton College cannot guarantee co-op positions for students. Success in finding a co-op opportunity involves a number of factors that are not controlled by Lambton College.
Any student who secures his or her own co-op position must verify with the Co-op Advisor assigned to the program before accepting the position that the proposed co-op is appropriate and will be approved.
Students are responsible for all personal costs, relocation costs, transportation arrangements to employment interviews and to the job site, and for living accommodations during co-op semesters. Relocation to different cities in Canada is often required.
