Lambton College is pleased to offer its Massage Therapy program in a two-year (10 month/year) fast track model. The program utilizes two training labs that include a total of 35 stationary massage therapy tables in individual private cubicles and modern equipment such as whirlpool tubs and therapeutic ultrasound equipment. Students participate in community outreaches using new portable massage tables and chairs.
Surrounded by a team of professional faculty, including Registered Massage Therapists, chiropractors and experienced instructors, students are exposed to the practice of massage therapy, the assessment of the soft tissue and joints of the body, as well as learning treatment, prevention, rehabilitation, pain management and more.
The capstone project for this program involves an optional international field study.

O.S.S.D. or equivalent with:
A minimum 60% in C or U courses including:
Grade 12 English C or U
Grade 11 or 12 Biology C or U OR Grade 12 Exercise Science (PSE4U)
One additional science course which may include Grade 11 or 12 Biology OR Grade 11 or 12 Chemistry (SCH) OR Grade 11 or 12 Physics (SPH) or Grade 12 Exercise Science (PSE4U)
Note: Applicants with general level courses from the old O.S.S.D. curriculum are required to have a 70% average.
Mature applicants must be at least 19 years of age by the start of classes, be out of secondary school for at least one year and usually do not have a high school diploma. Mature applicant testing for this program is available in the Counselling Department in the subject of English. The test(s) will determine proficiency in required admission subjects. For all other admission requirements applicants must complete the required course(s) as listed above. For more information please contact the Counselling Department at ext. 3412. and Pre-Programs at Lambton College.
GRADUATION & PROGRESSION REQUIREMENTS
In order to graduate from a program, the College requires that a student:
- achieve a GPA of 2.00 or greater, and
- successfully complete all courses in the program curriculum.
Some programs may have additional requirements for progression through and/or graduation from the program. Please refer to the program map for any additional program requirements.
Students qualify for free student membership with the Registered Massage Therapists' Association of Ontario. The RMTAO promotes and supports the profession while providing professional services, continuing education opportunities, and research information to its members.
This program meets competency requirements of the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO). Successful completion of this program qualifies students to participate in the registration examination of the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario.
Graduates of the Massage Therapy program are often self-employed or work in a variety of health and wellness settings. Examples include offering of massage therapy in connection with a wide variety of health care providers such as chiropractors, physiotherapists, hospitals and health spas.
