PROGRAM INFORMATION

This program is a one-year Ontario College Graduate Certificate program. Students gain highly marketable skills in the high-tech industry of web programming and database management. This program provides the foundation for development of browser-based, mobile (Androde, iOS) and digital device applications.

The curriculum emphasizes the study of internet technologies in the areas of client and server-side programming, mobile development, database system design and maintenance, and the Linux operating system. Current technologies include: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, AJAX, jQuery, JSON, XML, PHP, Oracle and Java.

Graduates are proficient in various aspects of modern web applications from the underlying server technology to the implementation of database transaction systems and mobile development. They have the opportunity to use problem solving and critical thinking skills to analyze business requirements and to design, develop and implement real-life database-driven enterprise web applications.

ACCREDITATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS

This program provides foundational knowledge for professional certification exams from Oracle Corporation which are listed at www.oracle.com. Additional prep time and fees will be required.
