FAQs / General Part-Time

Are academic prerequisites important?
Yes. All required prerequisites/co-requisites are listed with each course. To qualify for registration you must have successfully completed the indicated prerequisites or you must have an equivalent level of knowledge. If you believe you have the latter, please contact the Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) office 519-542-7751 ext 3415 at least two weeks before classes start. It may be possible to provide you with an assessment and credit. It is your responsibility to ensure you have completed all prerequisites or have received credit for prior learning from the CPL office before the start of classes.
Will the courses I took in the past apply to my current program?
http://www.mylambton.ca/admissions/Transfer_Credits/
Which courses are credit courses?
Credit courses are indicated by course code. The last number of the course code indicates credit weight (i.e. MRK-1003 has a credit weight of 3, ARCA- 3250 does not have a credit weight and is a non-credit course).
Is there a difference between credit and non-credit courses?
Credit courses may be applied to post-secondary programs at Lambton College within 7 years. Credit courses may also be eligible for transfer opportunities with other post-secondary institutions. Non-credit courses may apply to Continuing Education Certificates. If you have any questions on course selection for post-secondary use or transfer opportunities please contact the Counselling Office at 519-542-7751 ext 3412.
