CR   Credit The only passing grade for certain courses. The grade may be awarded for Prior Learning Assessment.
AS   Advanced Standing Offered where the student demonstrated mastery of the course content by experiential learning evaluation, successful completion of a challenge test or other appropriate assessment of the student by the College.
AU   Audit The student is allowed to attend the course on a non- participatory basis and at her/his discretion, as decided by the course Dean. The student must be registered in the course with this status no later than the late registration deadline.
EX   Exempt Offered for extenuating reasons where non-completion of the course is deemed non-prejudicial to the academic program as decided by the program Dean. The student must be registered in the course with this status no later than the late registration deadline.
I   Incomplete A student who has achieved standing in a course that is one letter grade lower than the minimum required for program progression may be awarded an “I” grade when, in the opinion of the professor, sufficient course objectives to obtain the required pass grade could be successfully completed within two weeks of the completion of the term. The initiative for the “I” grade may be taken either by the professor issuing it or by the student petitioning the professor for it. The “I” grade must be changed at the end of the two-week period to either the minimum required pass grade or the original grade.
IP    In-Progress The IP (In progress) designation may be assigned when a student is unable to complete a field clinical, practicum or co-op placement because of a problem originating with the agency or employer. A student requesting of the program Dean an IP designation for a placement must provide documentation to support the request. If, in the opinion of the Dean, the request is valid, the IP designation, which has no grade point value or penalty attached, will be assigned and recorded on the student’s transcipt. IP is temporary designation and must be replaced by the end of the next academic term with a grade: A through F, CR or W.
NG   No Grade Students who have been prevented from completing a course within a term due to extenuating medical or personal reasons may apply in writing to their program Dean for an NG designation to be assigned. Students must be prepared to provide documentation to support their request for the NG designation. If, in the opinion of the Dean, the request is valid, the NG designation, which has no penalty attached, will appear on the student’s transcript. The NG designation may be replaced by one of the passing grades if the required course work is completed successfully by the mid-point of the next academic term. If the work is not completed, the NG designation will revert to an F grade.
TC   Transfer Credit Offered for the successful completion of a course(s) beyond Grade 12 similar to the prescribed course, or for the successful completion of a different course. The student may accept or reject the offer. If accepting the offer, the student must be registered in the course with this status no later than the late registration deadline. For transfer credit based on a course completed at Lambton College, a TC grade will be recorded. Statute of Limitations applies.
W   Withdrew No penalty attached. Applies only as described in Regulation V(b). 
X   Grade Not Submitted No grade was submitted by the course instructor.
