This Board of Governors certificate will provide you with the theoretical and practical knowledge using simulated case studies to prepare you for a future in Medical Transcription. This program has several prerequisites. Students are advised that each transcription course will require in excess of 8 hours of work per week. These changes are being made to better prepare students for the workload later in the certificate, and to help the student develop the highest level transcription skills that are required in the industry. A total of 12 courses are required to obtain this certificate.

Please Note: All courses are available on a full or part-time basis and are offered online.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Typing speed of 30 net wpm

PROGRESSION REQUIREMENTS

CSCM-2113 is a corequisite for CSCM-4333
CSCM-2113 & CSCM-4333 are prerequisites for CSCM-9653 & CSCM-9663
CSCM-9653 & CSCM-9663 are prerequisites for CSCM-6123, CSCM-9653, CSCM-9663
CSCM-6123 is a prerequisite for CSCM-6253
