Contract terms:
We understand your teaching contract with Jilin University-Lambton College will include the following basic terms:
- Daytime classes: Monday – Friday
- Maximum 20 teaching hours per week for EFL and Academic English positions
- 16 teaching hours per week for Business, Finance and Accounting positions
- Teach year one, two or three college students
- One semester contract
- Additional incentives for renewed contracts
- Paid round-trip airfare
- Free of charge, furnished private studio apartment (one bedroom apartment for teaching couples) including the cost of utilities and provision of a telephone (excluding long distance costs) and a computer with internet access
- JLU-LC will arrange for appropriate invitation letters and limited medical coverage of 1000 RMB/semester (additional health coverage and immunizations are the responsibility of the teacher and should be arranged prior to travel)
- Working Visa (Z Visa) – one time entry
- Regulations include completion of a medical examination (to issue a foreign expert work/residence permit) at the clinic in Changchun as arranged by Jilin University-Lambton College
- Contract renewal is by mutual agreement

Salary is paid in RMB

Salaries are based on a monthly rate and are determined by the area of specialization

Salary ranges are based on the teacher’s university degree level

EFL teachers earn between 5000 – 5500 RMB per month

Academic English teachers earn between 6000 – 7000 RMB per month

Business, Finance and Accounting teachers earn 9000 RMB per month
-
A food allowance of 500 RMB per month is provided
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree is a minimum requirement

Master’s degree may be required in some subject areas

MBA is required for a Business, Finance or Accounting position

Preference is given to those with recent teaching experience

Teaching certification or TESL/TEFL teacher certification is an asset
Please note: The assignment is dependent upon the approval and obtainment of the invitation letter and working permit from the Chinese Government. If Jilin University-Lambton College is unable to obtain the invitation letter and working permit, Jilin University-Lambton College will not be able to implement the teaching contract. Jilin University-Lambton College is the employer and contract terms are subject to change by the employer.
