PROGRAM INFORMATION

If the human services field (security, social service, and early childhood education) is your ideal vocation then the Human Service Foundations program is a great place to start. Human Service Foundations is designed to give you a broad understanding of the different professional choices in this field while accumulating both contacts and experience through service learner placements. This program is also for students who may currently lack the academic background needed to be successful within these career streams.

Following completion of this one-year program, students may choose to apply for admission within any of the associated programs. Students also graduate with a minimum of 30 hours of placement experience.

Students who attain final grades of at least a B in ANT-2003, ENG-2113, PSY-1003, PSY-1023, pass all their prescribed courses, and have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.3 for the two terms, are placed in the top category of applicants for selection into the Early Childhood Education, Child and Youth Worker, Protection, Security & Investigation, Police Foundations and Social Service Worker programs the next academic year.

Qualifying for the top category of applicants for the above programs does not guarantee entry. Some of Lambton's programs are highly competitive. Applicants are ranked in highly competitive programs. Applicants who have successfully completed a pre-program at Lambton College will receive 10 bonus marks in their ranking.
