Civil Litigation Procedure I

Civil Litigation Procedure I is the first of two sequential civil litigation courses and opens with a general overview of civil litigation procedure in Ontario which expands upon the substantive legal knowledge which students gained in LAW 1303 (Civil Law). Students are quickly introduced to the Rules of Civil Procedure. This course covers approximately the first half of the civil litigiation process and includes the initial file opening, the drafting of pleadings and the production of motion material. This course serves as a prerequisite for LAW 3703 (Civil Litigation Procedure II) which covers discoveries, trial procedures and appeals.
